First day in Madrid
So today ended up being what both what I imagined and what I did not. First off, Tyler and I survived meeting each other at the airport. The unfortunate thing was that my stupid suitcase handle broke and part of the side was ripped, meaning I had to drag it by the small handle everywhere because we weren’t meeting with our friend Amy until later in the day. Also I forgot to mention that before arriving, I had a bad stomach ache on the airplane. In addition, the old man sitting next to me was so weird. He kept asking me about my life and every second he would look at me with a creepy smile. My earphones and ipod was necessary (and forcing myself to sleep). Luckily this Daniel Radcliff look-a-like flight attendant helped me out by bringing some chamomile tea.
I also was emotionally distressed once I got into the city. I don’t know why, but it seems as though I just thought about my family and boyfriend, and it made me sad. I had to take a few breathers and relax at a nearby cafe in Puerta del Sol. We were basically lugging around our things for a while in that area, but I was glad that we found free WiFi at McDonalds. Soon, we decided to go back to the airport and meet Amy there instead. Then we followed her to her apartment. We achieved peace at last!
In the evening, we ventured out to get some tapas and sangria in Puerta del Sol, and I am currently full from those Spanish dishes. I shall post photos up later. I am extremely tired from all the walking and metro transfers today.
More happy adventures coming!
